Six glorified years and millions of users; Facebook, with its social power, reaches for new empires. Bing & Skype are going to provide Facebook contents to their users.
Microsoft accepts Facebook’s reign in social networking by cutting a deal to show its user network in Bing searches. Searcher‘s friends-list will appear in the search, with the “Like”s those friends do. This huge extension of Facebook’s massive public platform may render a privacy settings revisit for users, though user profile with disabled “public search” option is off-limits for Bing.
Skype, the hugely popular peer to peer communicator, is going to serve its users with Facebook specials. “One point solution” lovers will get status updates, links, “Like”s and the most exciting of all, option to call & send instant massages using the Facebook phonebook. Calls will be free as usual if it’s done between Skype to Skype contacts.
Certainly these assimilations of Search Engine marketing & P2P communication with Social Networking, are introducing new playgrounds for internet user & marketers.
